AT LAST: THE BREAKTHROUGH TO ADDICTION REVEALED

IT IS ALL IN YOUR MIND

Whether it is alcohol, TV, coffee, cigarette, the reason why some people are addicted to any of these is in their psyche. The way they think and make connections regarding their importance to them. In general, this is the result of trying to solve a particular affliction using a shortcut of some sorts.

This is generally how it goes. Some challenge arises and you find yourself without answers. You start hurting and feeling sorry for yourself. Eventually the pain is intolerable. You look around and grab one thing after another until you come across the one thing that relieves the pain. But it does not last. You end up unable to face the world without a dose of said addiction.

MANY FACES OF ADDICTION

Addiction manifests itself in many ways. It can show up wrapped up in a suit and tie or a lovely mini skirt. The point is there is no singular way to identify addiction. But there are tell tales signs indicating potential addiction.
  1. An unnatural and obsessive reliance on a particular substance. Again this can be anything from TV to alcohol and anything in between.
  2. A strong sense of denial on reliance of the substance in question.
  3. A dysfunctional life with  periodic blacking out.
  4. Unusual and uncharacteristic aggression.
THE SOLUTION

Below is a solution to the addiction dilemma that many people are or have been facing. The simplicity of it all should not detract from its effectiveness. It does work, if you work it.

  1. Accept that you are indeed addicted and in need of help. This is important.
  2. Realize that your addiction is a sign of some difficulty that is being avoided. Find out what that is.
  3. Get professional help. Seriously get help. At times you do need a knowledgeable, objective party to intervene.
  4. Decide to leave your addiction behind and stick with it. Once you have decided, never look back. It can be tempting to revert to the "good, old days". Remember the cons and pros of turning back and you will see that it is not worth it.
  5. Plan and anticipate better days. If all prior mentioned steps are taken care of, things should improve dramatically. A sense of direction and purpose will result.
CONCLUSION

Addictions of any kind are serious. This cannot be over emphasized. Therefore, this should be approached with caution and due consideration.
But in the main, addictions can be beaten. It is your life after all and you have a say in it. Make the most of it and come out victorious.
